It has been sweet to be invited to conduct kit assemblies with three different groups over the last few weeks. At most kit assemblies, I get to share a little bit about Pinked Perspective including our why, our how, and our what. It occurred to me recently that after almost 11 years of telling my breast cancer story that it might sound trite by now if it weren’t for what has come from it because of Pinked Perspective. While I love being able to send our kits to help others prepare for treatment, I have come to realize that my favorite part of our why is the relationships that have come from walking with others that are facing their own breast cancer journeys. The faces pictured below are ladies that have become so dear to me. I don’t know for certain if we would have found friendship some other way, but mostly breast cancer is the reason I get to call these ladies my friends. “Beauty from ashes” is how I often refer to it.
Pinked Update
As I mentioned we have had a month of great kit assemblies that have left our shelves full of kits ready to ship. While each of them have been special and unique in their own ways, it has been especially exciting to have groups of young girls involved with the last two. Those sweet faces, some that understand breast cancer well and others that don’t, eager to help those in need was especially heart warming to me this month.
